The Philadelphia Flyers have spent the last several years building a young core, but one area that could still use additional depth is center. If Alexander Command is available when the Flyers make their selection at 21st overall in the 2026 NHL Draft, he could be a player worth serious consideration.
Command is coming off an impressive season with Örebro's U20 club in Sweden, where he recorded 17 goals and 27 assists for 44 points in 30 games. He continued producing in the postseason, adding 13 points in 14 playoff contests. His strong play also earned him a spot on Sweden's U18 World Championship team, where he helped his country capture gold.
What stands out most about Command's game is his versatility. He is the type of center who can contribute in every zone of the ice. Whether he's creating offense, supporting defensively, or winning battles along the boards, Command consistently finds ways to impact the game.
For a Flyers organization looking to build a team that is difficult to play against, Command's style could be an excellent fit. He plays with a high compete level, works hard away from the puck, and shows the awareness needed to handle important defensive responsibilities. At the same time, he possesses the offensive instincts necessary to create scoring chances for both himself and his teammates.
Another attractive aspect of Command's game is his hockey intelligence. He reads plays well, makes smart decisions under pressure, and often seems one step ahead of opponents. Those traits allow him to be effective even when he isn't the fastest player on the ice.
The Flyers already have exciting young talent in their prospect pipeline, but adding another center with two-way upside would strengthen the organization's future. Command may not be the flashiest prospect projected to be available in the middle of the first round, but he brings a reliable all-around game that could translate well to the NHL.
If Philadelphia is searching for a player who combines skill, work ethic, and responsibility at both ends of the ice, Alexander Command could be one of the best options available when the Flyers are on the clock at No. 21.
