Langhorne Borough Council Honors Mayor Taylor

Posted

At the December 10 Council Meeting, Langhorne Borough Council honored Mayor Joe Taylor and the outgoing members of Council. Council President Nancy Culleton presented Mayor Taylor with a proclamation on behalf of the Borough honoring him for his distinguished service. Senator Frank Farry, Representative Joe Hogan, and a representative from the office of Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick also made presentations.

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick’s office presented them each with a citation and a flag flown over the United States Capitol. The Congressman also had read into record an account of Mayor Taylor’s service, ensuring that his contributions to the Borough will forever be a part of American history. Representative Hogan and Senator Farry also presented Mayor Taylor with citations, and Senator Farry spoke to his dedication to the community and the enduring impact he has made throughout his career as both mayor and the Deputy Chief of the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company.

Mayor Taylor has been a Langhorne Borough resident since 2010 and served as mayor for 12 years, since 2014. He has also been involved with the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company for more than five decades, since 1972. During this time he has served as both Chief and Deputy Chief. He is currently the Deputy Chief, and has served in this role throughout the 25 years that Frank Farry has been the Fire Chief. He also serves on the Apparatus Committee and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Vice President of the Langhorne Firemen's Relief Association.

Langhorne Borough Council thanks all who joined them and helped make this a memorable evening, particularly Mayor Taylor’s family, who they were pleased could attend. They would also like to thank Councilperson Adam Zielinski, who although was not present for the acknowledgments, he too has done a great deal for the community and will have left it better off when his term ends at the end of the year.
