Lace up for the Inaugural Newtown Turkey Trot 5K: In honor of fallen Officer Brian S. Gregg

Posted

This Thanksgiving morning, Newtown Borough will come alive with community spirit, gratitude, and remembrance as runners, walkers, and families gather for the Inaugural Newtown Turkey Trot 5K.

Set for Thursday, November 27, at 9 am, the race will take place in the heart of Newtown Borough, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and friends for a morning filled with energy, gratitude, and community pride.

Hosted by Boss Events — the same team that brings you the popular Newtown Shamrock Shuffle — in partnership with the Newtown Borough Police Department, the event honors Officer Brian S. Gregg, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2005. Proceeds benefit the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund, which provides educational scholarships to the children of local first responders who have been killed or permanently disabled while serving our community.

Participants can expect a family-friendly race that welcomes everyone—from seasoned runners to casual walkers. The scenic course winds through the Borough’s historic streets, where neighbors and volunteers will cheer participants on as they run in remembrance and gratitude.

After crossing the finish line, the celebration continues! Participants can enjoy refreshments from local businesses, music, photo ops, and post-race fun before heading home to those Thanksgiving feasts. It’s the perfect way to start the day!

The Newtown Turkey Trot 5K is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of community, remembrance, and gratitude, and a Newtown Thanksgiving tradition in the making.
