Pennsbury High School Varsity Cheerleaders crowned National Champions; JV Team earns top-five finish

Pennsbury High School is celebrating a historic achievement as the PHS Varsity Cheerleading Team captured a National Championship, while the Junior Varsity Cheerleaders earned an outstanding 5th-place finish nationally, marking an unforgettable weekend January 23 to 24 on the national stage in Fort Worth, Texas.

Both teams delivered their strongest performances of the season when it mattered most, demonstrating exceptional confidence, precision, and spirit under pressure. With unwavering focus and teamwork, the cheerleaders showcased the excellence and pride that define Pennsbury Cheer, earning national recognition for their skill and dedication.

Beyond their competitive success, Pennsbury Cheer was also honored for its impact off the mat. Selected from hundreds of teams nationwide, the program was named a Top 10 finalist for the prestigious Go Be Great Award, which recognizes outstanding community service and leadership. The team was announced as the award winner, celebrating the many hours its athletes dedicate to giving back, supporting others, and representing Pennsbury with integrity and heart.

Following the competition, the team faced an unexpected challenge when weather conditions delayed their return home, leaving them stranded in Texas for two additional days due to snow. Upon their arrival back in the community, the cheerleaders were welcomed with a heroes’ escort by firefighters and police from three local towns—an unforgettable tribute that reflected the pride and support of the Pennsbury community.

This National Championship marks the first for Pennsbury High School in several decades, making the accomplishment all the more meaningful. This remarkable group of student-athletes has etched its place in Pennsbury history, serving as a powerful example of what can be achieved through hard work, perseverance, and belief in one another.

It is truly a great time to be a Falcon.
