The Warminster Food Bank is pleased to announce that they received a $2,500 donation from Cowhey Family ShopRite of Warminster in honor of National Hunger Action Month. This donation will be used to purchase perishable items, meats, fruits, vegetables and other necessities for those in need.
Food bank donations decrease in the spring and summer is approaching. Both seasons lead to more food insecurity among people in the community. During the summer, schools are closed and children are not receiving meals at school. For many struggling families, it means having to make difficult choices between food and other necessities. This donation from ShopRite will help to bridge the gap for these families at a time when it is most needed.
“At ShopRite of Warminster, National Hunger Action Month is a powerful reminder of our responsibility to care for our neighbors. Through ShopRite Partners in Caring, our associates came together with purpose, compassion, and determination,” said Deborah Cowhey, Owner/Operator, Cowhey Family ShopRite of Warminster. “Fighting hunger isn’t just a cause we support—it’s a responsibility we take personally."
“ShopRite of Warminster, along with the Cowhey family, has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the community. Their involvement goes far beyond running a business; they have become genuine members of the local area by actively supporting important causes such as ours,” said Mike Cerino, Executive Director, Warminster Food Bank.
