With a sea of Virginia bluebells (Mertensia virginica) and other stunning native ephemerals in peak bloom, springtime is best enjoyed at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve.
Spring is also the prime season to witness the Preserve’s mission in full bloom.
The much-anticipated season opening of the Preserve’s Native Plant Nursery is Friday, April 10, with daily operations through November. The Preserve’s Native Plant Nursery is your go-to destination for straight species native flowers, plants, shrubs and trees. Planting native plants is a smart way to create a healthy and diverse environment, attract more pollinators and beautify your landscape. Want to pick your favorite native plants early? Purchase or renew your annual Preserve membership and enjoy exclusive members-only shopping on Thursday, April 9.
Rooted in Our Future, the Preserve’s signature fundraiser – and best date night in Bucks County – is on Saturday, April 25. Join over 200 Preserve supporters for a celebratory, communal evening featuring a spring-inspired menu by Max Hansen caterer, botanical libations by Bluestem Botanicals, live jazz featuring the Dave Dales Trio, and a lively Raise Your Paddle fundraiser. This year’s honorary co-host is Jenny Rose Carey, renowned gardener, educator and author. The event will also feature interactive experiences from locally acclaimed artist, April Ann Bohmler, and locally acclaimed landscape designer, David Hughes of Weatherwood Design. Tickets are available now (in limited quantity with high demand), and this event is open to the public.
