No more headlines about “partial shutdowns,” “temporary extensions,” or whatever creative term they come up with to describe a group project that absolutely no one finished on time. Now we can all get back to our regularly scheduled programming: worrying about things like grocery prices, climate change, how you’re going to manage that new healthcare premium, and whether that new song you love is AI generated.

I know things like that keep a lot of us up at night. That, and what in the world you’re going to do if someone on your gift giving list wants a Labubu.

Don’t even get me started on why they are so popular! Or why I didn’t think of it!  Of course, if I had the answers — or even a crystal ball that wasn’t on backorder — I’d be sipping a frosty cocktail somewhere sandy and spectacular. Preferably involving a coconut and one of those umbrellas that serves absolutely no purpose except making you feel like everything’s going to be okay. But since that’s not happening anytime soon, I’ll stick to what I do know: helping people buy and sell homes, no matter what chaos is swirling in the background. And feeling blessed that I get to do so.

So as the year begins to wind down and the holidays begin to swirl around us, I hope you take a step away from the chaos and remember that despite the rhetoric in Washington, we are far more alike than we are different. We all want comfort, connection, and a place to call home. So as you gather this year — with family, friends, neighbors, and that one relative who always has something to say — turn down the noise, extend some grace, pour a well-deserved drink, and give thanks.
