The Philadelphia Flyers battled back from a three-goal deficit Tuesday night but ultimately fell 4-3 in overtime to the Columbus Blue Jackets at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Despite a dramatic late comeback, Kent Johnson's overtime winner handed Philadelphia another frustrating loss.

Columbus took control early, scoring three unanswered goals in the opening period. Adam Fantilli opened the scoring before Johnson and Denton Mateychuk extended the Blue Jackets' advantage, leaving the Flyers trailing 3-0 entering the first intermission.

Philadelphia began its comeback in the second period when Noah Cates scored his first goal of the season, with Porter Martone and Oliver Bonk recording assists. The Flyers continued generating offensive pressure into the third period, where Trevor Zegras cut the deficit to one with just under five minutes remaining in regulation.

With Philadelphia facing another defeat, Jamie Drysdale delivered a dramatic equalizer with just 11 seconds remaining. Assisted by Tyson Foerster and Zegras, Drysdale's goal completed the three-goal comeback and forced overtime, giving the Flyers an opportunity to secure two points after a disastrous start.

However, Johnson ended Philadelphia's comeback hopes just 2:22 into overtime, scoring his second goal of the night off a two-on-none rush with Fantilli to secure the 4-3 Columbus victory.

The Flyers outshot the Blue Jackets 31-15, with Columbus goaltender Cam Talbot making 28 saves. Dan Vladar finished with 11 saves for Philadelphia, which dropped to 3-7-4 on the season.

Although the Flyers demonstrated resilience and offensive determination, their slow start ultimately proved costly. Philadelphia managed to salvage a point, but the defeat highlighted the team's continued struggles with consistency. Moving forward, the Flyers will need stronger starts and more complete performances to turn competitive efforts into victories.
