Hands Holding Hearts

A local bereavement support program for families

Posted

Who among us has not experienced the loss of someone or something important? When loss occurs, finding grief-specific care can be challenging. Hands Holding Hearts serves as Bucks County’s only comprehensive bereavement program, supporting individuals of all ages—from children as young as 3 to adults in their 80s.

The Center provides a warm, compassionate environment where people can find hope, understanding, and connection at every stage of grief. Its mission is rooted in community: to walk alongside each person through loss and help them rediscover meaning and strength.

Services include individual and family counseling, specialized support groups for children, teens, and adults, and community education programs that foster healing and resilience. Led by experienced clinicians, each service offers thoughtful, age-appropriate guidance. Whether facing a recent loss or carrying grief from years past, clients find a safe space to share, heal, and connect.

July Focus: Children’s Bereavement Camp

One of the Center’s most impactful programs is the Children’s Bereavement Camp, taking place July 10–12 at Friends Village in Newtown. Designed for children ages 6–12 who have experienced the death of a loved one, the camp blends therapeutic support with traditional activities.

Participants benefit from:

  • Guided grief support in a safe setting
  • Tools to build coping skills and resilience
  • Pet therapy visits
  • Peer connection with children who share similar experiences

For many families, this camp becomes a turning point—helping children realize they are not alone.
